Qatar to send a technical team to solve Gaza's electricity crisis
Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi, Chairman of the Qatar National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, announced that they will send a technical team to Gaza to solve the electricity crisis.
Al-Emadi said they will send a technical team to Palestine to activate line 161 to solve the electricity crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Ambassador Al-Emadi said in Doha that the technical team will go after Ramadan and will negotiate with the relevant parties to activate the electricity transmission line from the occupation regime to the Gaza Strip.
The Qatari ambassador said in a press conference in Gaza in mid-May that his country would continue its efforts to resolve the growing electricity issue of the Gaza Strip.
Expressing that they are trying to alleviate the humanitarian crisis experienced by the people of Gaza, al- Emadi said that Qatar has allocated some of its funds to the improvement of the line that carries electricity to Gaza.
Reminding that Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani has donated $480 million to the Palestinian people, al-Emadi said that Doha will continue to supply fuel to the only power plant in the Gaza Strip until the end of the year.
Palestinian Energy Authority President Zafir Milham pointed out that the Gaza Strip could receive uninterrupted electricity if the line 161 is active.
