Rouhani also referred to the imposition of illegal sanctions and the three-year US economic war against the Iranian nation, saying: “With the changes in the international arena and the desire of the new US administration to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), with the complete lifting of sanctions, a new atmosphere will be created for Iran's cooperation and economic interactions with the world, and it is better for friendly countries to try to seize this opportunity”.
During the meeting, the Serbian Foreign Minister stressed that his country has always been determined to have friendly relations with Iran, emphasizing the development and deepening of relations between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
Nikola Selaković added: “We have always supported –and continue to support- the JCPOA and the peaceful goals of the Iran’s nuclear programme, and we hope that the problems related to this international agreement will be resolved as soon as possible”.
