National Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli said that the purchase of S-400 air defense systems from Russia would not affect the F-35 purchase with the US and that the S-400 agreement with Russia is a definite one.

Canikli answered the questions of journalists before the AK Party TBMM [Grand National Assembly of Turkiye] Group Meeting. On the question of a journalist, "What is the latest situation in S-400s? Does the S-400 purchase affect the F-35 project? Canikli said, "No, what to do with them? All are separate projects. Turkiye entered the F-35 project many years ago and delivery also starting next year. We give the money. There is no change in agreement we made. Financing has been resolved, orders have been made, advance payments have been made, we are still in that spot, and we sometimes negotiate if we can receive from the planned calendar."
