Search in Saudi consulate ended by early morning
The joint working group consists of Turkish and Saudi officials finished their search in the case of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who could not be heard from since he entered the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul.
Turkish and Saudi officials arrived on Monday at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul after the start of a joint probe of the case of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The inspection done in the consulate has finished by early Tuesday morning.
Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reportedly assigned an acting chief prosecutor and a public prosecutor to carry out the probe at the consulate. Also, specialists from the anti-terror branch and crime scene investigation units of Istanbul Provincial Security Directorate are included to the team.
Officials, who entered to consulate building on Monday evening at 19.20, made a 9 hours search in the building. The "blue light" method and the sensitive nose dog were also used during the inspection. The teams put the samples they collected after their inspection in 2 cleaning trucks. The samples will be examined by expert teams.
