117 people die of coronavirus pandemic over past 24 hours in Iran

117 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Iran, bringing the total number of the deaths to 2,757, said Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Monday.

3,186 new cases have tested positive for coronavirus over the past 24 hours, so the number of infected people in Iran have risen to 38,309.

“13, 191 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals,” Jahanpour said.

3,467 patients are in critical condition, according to the Health Ministry spokesman.

Iran reported its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.

As of 29 March 2020, Iran has the fourth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, China, and Spain, and the sixth-highest number of SARS-CoV-2 cases in the world.
