13 people killed in southern Iraq in ongoing protests

13 people have killed in southern Iraq in one of the worst days of protests.

According to the reports, thirteen anti-government protesters were killed by security forces in one of the worst days of protests in the southern Iraq on Sunday.

7 people were killed in the southern province of Basra, near the Umm Qasr port, where security forces used live fire and tear gas to disperse the protesters.

4 people were killed in Nassiriya province, and one killed in both Najaf and Diwanieh provinces, Iraqi officials announced.

More than 340 people have been killed since demonstrations protests began Oct. 1, when thousands of Iraqi took to the streets to protest corruption and poor services.
