Angry protests erupted in the city of Kenosha after Wisconsin cops shot an unarmed black man in the back multiple times.
“On August 25, at about 11:45 pm Kenosha Police, along with assisting agencies, responded to the area of 63rd Street and Sheridan Road for reports of shots being fired and multiple gunshot victims. Two shooting resulted in two fatalities and a third gunshot victim was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” Kenosha City Police Department said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The shooting investigation is active an ongoing. No further details regarding the shooting will be released at this time. The names, ages and cities of residence for the victims are still being determined,” it added.
On Sunday, Jacob S. Blake, a 29-year-old American black man, was shot from behind seven times by a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Police were attempting to arrest Blake during a domestic dispute, during which Blake was tased and scuffled briefly with officers.
He is in a serious condition in hospital.
