2 pilots killed in an aircraft crash in Pakistan

An aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed while on a routine operational training mission near Mianwali district of the country's east Punjab province on Tuesday, killing two pilots, a PAF statement said.

Aircraft FT-7 was on its routine operational training mission when it crashed shortly after taking off from the airbase, killing both pilots including a squadron leader and a flight officer.

A team of inquiry has been commissioned by the Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the accident.

In october 2019, a Mushshak trainer aircraft belonging to the army aviation crash-landed in a paddy field near Wazirabad in Punjab's Gujranwala district.

17 people were killed when a Pakistan Army aviation aircraft on a routine training flight crashed near Mora Kalu Rawalpindi, in July 2019.
