Turkish General Staff announced that a 30-40 vehicle convoy, carrying weaponry and ammunition to Afrin, was shot.

The General Staff said that the convoy of "30-40 vehicles belonging to terrorist organizations carrying weapons, ammunition, and terrorists" was detected while approaching the city from the south-east of Afrin and was shot by means of land fire while 15 kilometers away from the city.

In the statement made by the General Staff, it was stated that "the convoy consisting of 30-40 vehicles belonging to PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and DAESH terrorist organizations and carrying weapons, ammunition, and terrorists were detected when approaching the city from south of Afrin".

In the statement, it was announced that the convoy was shot by means of land fire support while it was about 15 kilometers away from the city [Afrin]. "During the operation, only the convoy of the PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and DAESH terrorist organizations was targeted, and every attention and sensitivity was shown to prevent the civilians from being harmed as usual," read the statement.

On Tuesday, the Turkish Armed Forces had attacked Syrian regime militia forces, heading towards Afrin. "That file has been closed for now, and we have already agreed on these issues at the meetings we made with Mr. Putin and Mr. Rouhani," said President Erdoğan after the attack.
