30 thousand trucks of reinforcements, our disadvantage: Turkish Interior Minister

"We are much better in terms of intelligence, this advantage," said Turkish Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, regarding Turkey's operation, adding that a massive 30 thousand trucks of reinforcements are a disadvantage to them.

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu made assessments of Turkey's cross-border operation in northern Syria.

Comparing Turkey's Operation Peace Spring to the north of Syria with Operation Euphrates Shield and Operation Olive Branch, the Turkish Interior Minister says they have advantages and disadvantages.

"The advantages are that we are better than ever in terms of human resources and technology and ammunition. We are much better in terms of intelligence, this advantage," he said.

The disadvantage is there are a massive 30 thousand trucks of reinforcements. Our strategic allies have supplements. This can be described as another side of the balance sheet," he added.

Stating that Turkey has been in that area village by village, tribal by tribe, neighborhood by neighborhood for a very long time, Soylu added that today they have the ability to update this information, while regarded this as an advantage.

"Before the start of this operation, Europe thought that this operation could happen, and for years, without ignoring its relations with the PYD and the PKK, put forward a few impostures. What Europe said is, 'Turkey is trying to change the demographic structure of the region'. All of these are statements intended to discourage Turkey from this operation or to question the legitimacy of this operation," Soylu said.

Soylu noted that the NATO Secretary-General made a very clear statement, saying the operation of Turkey is legitimate. "Turkey has suffered for too long."
