4.8 magnitude earthquake hits western Venezuela

A magnitude 4.8 quake took place near Acarigua city of Portuguesa state in Venezuela on Wednesday at 9:40 pm, the United States Geological Survey reported.

The earthquake had a depth of 2 kilometers and was felt in several areas of the country, including the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.

There have been no reports of casualties or significant damage from the earthquake.
