Four people who killed President Jovenel Moïse are shot dead and two others were arrested by police, Haiti's police chief said.

After the heinous assassination, the country declared a two-week 'state of siege' imposing martial law to hunt down the killers, halting all flights out of Port-Au-Prince and sealing the country's borders.

“4 suspected killers of President Jovenel Moise were fatally shot by police, and 2 others were arrested. 3 police officers who had been held hostage were freed in the incident,” Haiti Police Chief Léon Charles said.

On Wednesday morning, Haiti’s President Jovenel Moise Moïse was assassinated, and his wife, Martine, was injured during an attack on their private residence in Pétion-Ville.
