429 village roads close in East of Turkiye

Due to heavy snowfall effective from Sunday evening, 429 village roads in the Eastern Anatolia Region were closed.

Eastern Anatolia Region was affected by snowfall. Because of the snow and storms that have been effective in the region since Sunday evening, 429 village roads in Bitlis, Van, Hakkari and Muş provinces reportedly are closed to transportation.

Schools were vacationed for a day as 146 village roads were closed due to snowfall in Bitlis. Pregnant and disabled workers in public institutions were considered as administrative leave. When the Provincial Special Administration teams have been working for opening the village roads that are closing; the municipal teams also started work to open the access roads in main and intermediate arteries.

Transportation to 141 village roads was closed due to snowfall also in Van. The effective storm in Van's Bahçesaray closed 70 rural neighborhoods and roads. Work has been initiated to re-open the access roads.

In Muş, work was started to open the 30 village roads that closed due to heavy snowfall. Roads of 34 villages and 78 hamlets reportedly were closed due to heavy snowfall in Turkiye's eastern city Hakkâri.

On the other hand, according to the statement made by the 14th Regional Directorate of Meteorology, it is stated that the weather will be cloudy throughout the region and that sleet will be effective in high places.
