6 deadly explosions hit Kirkuk: 6 dead 18 injured

At least six explosions hit Kirkuk city late on Thursday reportedly killed 6 people while 18 other people were injured according to officials.

Iraqi Security Media Cell later confirmed the explosion in a statement that six improvised explosive devices exploded in Kirkuk and security forces defused two others.

"These attacks took place in the streets of Quds, [near] the governor's office and Baghdad Road in Kirkuk province, injuring two people," it said.

The area is a popular commercial area where many malls and nightlife spots are located.

According to officials, 2 bombs were placed before, 2 bombs were sound bombs and the other 2 bombs were bomb-laden vehicles.

No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.
