6 people killed in Alaska plane crash

A sightseeing plane crashed about eight miles northeast of Ketchikan, Alaska, killing all six people on board, the U.S. Coast Guard said in a statement.

“An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Sitka located the wreckage at 2:37 p.m. and lowered two rescue swimmers who reported no survivors,” the statement said.

“One pilot and five passengers were reportedly aboard the aircraft owned by Southeast Aviation LLC,” The statement added.
