Eight police officers were suspended said Istanbul Governor Office for the extradition of a young man named Mohamed AbdElhafeez Ahmad Hussein to Egypt who had been sentenced to death.
"In order to investigate the extradition of a foreign national named Mohamed AbdElhafeez Ahmad Hussein to his country, a commission was appointed by our governorship under the chairmanship of the deputy governor on February 05, 2019," the statement said.
The Governorship Office announced that eight police officers in charge of the Passport Control Bureau of Atatürk Airport Security Branch were removed from the duties on February 05, 2019 with the approval of the Governor's Office.
"In accordance with the proposal of the investigator in charge of the review and investigation to be carried out, eight police officers in charge of the Passport Control Bureau of Atatürk Airport Security Branch were removed from the duties with the approval of the Governor's Office on February 05, 2019," the governor office said.
