A 4.4 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Turkey

The 4.4 quake hit the Başkale district of Van province on Sunday, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced on its website.

The earthquake occurred at around 07:32 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 37.9498 degrees north and a longitude of 43.8736 degrees east, and at a depth of 12.95 km.

The earthquake was felt in the nearby districts, the local sources said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
