A 4.6 magnitude earthquake hits western Georgia

The quake took place at 04:44 TSI in the city of Ninotsminda in the western part of Georgia, on the border with Turkey.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 28 kilometers from Akkaya district of Turkey’s northeastern Kars province, according to Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage from the earthquake.
