A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hits Iran’s capital

Two people died; 33 others injured in the earthquake, the local sources said.

Two people have died and 22 others were injured after a magnitude 5.1 earthquake that hit northern Iran early on Friday

The epicenter of the quake was at Damavand, just northeast of the capital, at the depth of 10km (6.2 miles), according to Tehran University's Geophysics Center.

The earthquake was felt in the provinces of Alborz, Qazvin, Mazandaran and Qom in the neighborhood of Tehran.
