A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Turkey

The 5.3 quake hit Turkey’s eastern Elazığ province on Sunday, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced on its website.

The earthquake occurred at around 09:37 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 38.5218 degrees north and a longitude of 39.1813 degrees east, and at a depth of 15.94 km.

The earthquake was felt in the nearby provinces, including Diyarbakır, Malatya, Adıyaman, Tunceli and Bingöl, the local sources said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
