A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hits southwestern Iran

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit Iran's Ilam province on Sunday morning, the Iranian Seismological Center said.

The tremor was recorded at 08:54 a.m. local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages to buildings.
