A 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolts eastern Turkey

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake has hit the Özalp district of Turkey’s eastern Van province, the country’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced on its website.

The earthquake occurred at around 13:03, with its epicenter at a latitude of 38.5 degrees north and a longitude of 44.0 degrees east, and at a depth of 6,96 km.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages to buildings.
