A 5.6 magnitude earthquake hits Japan

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Japan on Monday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) announced on Twitter.

“Another quake struck beneath the Tokyo metro region just after 10 pm local time on May 4th. This quake, a M 5.6, is the latest in a swarm that has been ongoing over the past few weeks,” EMSC said.

No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
