A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hits Philippines

A 6.3-magnitude quake struck the Philippines on Friday, the country’s Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

The quake occurred at 7:43 a.m. local time (2343 GMT) in Batangas province on the main island of Luzon at a depth of 114 kilometers.

No tsunami warning has been issued after the earthquake.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake.
