Alla Samoilova, the chief of Roszdravnadzor, the federal service of the Russian Federation that exercises control and supervision functions in the field of health care, said that 489 healthcare employees had died from coronavirus in the country.
“Initial problems with providing sufficient personal protective equipment to health care workers were to blame for those deaths,” Samoilova noted.
Until now, Russia has reported 561,091 coronavirus cases, with 313,963 recoveries and 7,660 fatalities nationwide.
