'Agent' crisis between Turkiye and the Netherlands

Working in Netherlands Consulate General in Istanbul, the Dutch citizen A.Z. allegedly spying, reportedly left Turkiye.

The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the employee in Netherlands Consulate General in Istanbul and Dutch citizen A.Z. departed from Turkiye after the news published that an investigation has been launched against it.

According to Milliyet quoted from RTL Nieuws television, the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the departure of the Dutch citizen for its safety, who was working as "responsible for the regional activities" in Consulate General in Istanbul. The A.Z. allegedly was a "military intelligence service officer".

The person in question reportedly was gathering intelligence related to Turkiye's Afrin operation and spread false information.
