Agricultural Input Price Index rises by 6.77% in Turkey

Agricultural Input Price Index increased by 6.77% annually and 0.17% monthly in Turkey, the country’s statistical institute (TurkStat) announced in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, agriculture-PPI (2015=100) increased by 0.17% compared to previous month, increased by 3.31% compared to December of the previous year, increased by 6.77% compared to same month of the previous year and increased by 9.38% compared to twelve months averages, in June 2020.

Monthly changes with respect to previous month by main groups, goods and services currently consumed in agriculture index increased by 0.17% and goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 0.18%. The goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 6.24% and goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 10.05% compared to same month of the previous year.

The highest annual decrease was realized 3.39% in plant protection and pesticides subgroup

The other subgroups that indicated decrease were fertilizer and soil improvers with 3.24% and energy; lubricants with 0.36%. On the other hand, maintenance of materials with 12.50%, other goods and services with 9.75% and animal feedingstuffs with 9.44% subgroups where high annual increases realized.

The highest monthly decrease was 1.63% in fertilizer and soil improvers subgroup

The other subgroups that indicated high monthly decrease were animal feedingstuffs with 0.93% and seeds and planting stock with 0.26% compared to previous month. In June 2020, energy; lubricants with 3.73% and maintenance of materials with 1.47% were the subgroups where high monthly increases realized.
