Al-Quds is a red line for us and for the Ummah: President Erdoğan

Speaking at the opening session of the 2nd Legislative Year of the 27th term of the GNAT, President Erdoğan said, "Al-Quds is a red line for us and for the ummah."

"As I always say, A-Quds is a red line for us and for the Ummah. We cannot tolerate any kind of action or fait accompli that violates the sanctity of Al-Quds and amounts to an attack on the fundamental rights and freedoms of our Palestinian brothers. As Turkiye, we will pursue the cause for Al-Quds to the end." President said in his speech.

Speaking at Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, President Erdoğan said, "Turkiye is becoming a truly global power with its democracy and economy as a country situated in the most turbulent region of the world. Security crises, humanitarian tragedies and the ensuing terrorist attacks in our region have not succeeded in diverting us from our path. To the contrary, they reinforce our determination to achieve our goals."

"Our goal is to clear Qandil and Sinjar completely"

Pointing out that organizations that were once very effective in Iraq and Syria lose ground with each passing day, President Erdoğan said, "Even though these countries have trouble reinstating internal stability, the circumstances that led terrorist organizations to thrive have been eliminated to a great extent. The chaotic attempt by the regional government in northern Iraq for independence has failed as a result of Turkiye’s clear position on the subject. Iraq has been relieved of a major problem as the central government reinstated its control over territories that were under the occupation of Daesh. Similarly, we hope to eliminate the presence of the PKK in the country.”

Noting that Turkiye took control of most of the areas in Iraq where the PKK has been active, President Erdoğan said: "Our goal is to clear Qandil, which we see as the source of the problem, and Sinjar, which promises to become the new Qandil, completely from the separatist terrorist organization. We believe that Iraq must eliminate sectarianism that ails the country as soon as possible in order to become a safe, peaceful, stable and prosperous country for its people and in the region. We shall continue to support and lead, when necessary, efforts for this purpose."

Stating that the situation in Syria is, unfortunately, far worse and painful, President Erdoğan continued, "The country is suffering in the throes of a civil war that has been raging for more than 7 years. To date, close to 1 million Syrian brothers and sisters have lost their lives and 12 million have had to flee their homes."

"Al-Quds is a red line for us and for the ummah"

President Erdoğan further stated, "As I always say, A-Quds is a red line for us and for the Ummah. We cannot tolerate any kind of action or fait accompli that violates the sanctity of Al-Quds and amounts to an attack on the fundamental rights and freedoms of our Palestinian brothers. As Turkiye, we will pursue the cause for Al-Quds to the end. As you can see, we simultaneously engage in many important processes in the international arena with diligence and determination in order to ensure a brighter future for our country."
