At least 10 people were killed, including a baby, in the apartment fire on Tuesday in Paris, France. Thirty-seven other people, including six firefighters, were injured while one of the wounded was described to have life-threatening injuries.
In the 16th arrondissement of the city, flames covering the last two floors of an 8-story building were taken under control after intense efforts by firefighters.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet, while authorities are concerned about the increase in the number of dead and wounded in the fire.
Paris Attorney Remy Heitz told reporters that a 40-year-old woman with a "psychiatric history" who lived in the building had been arrested.
"At this stage, and given the elements we have, it's the criminal thesis that is favored," he added.
Daniele Giazzi, mayor of the 16th arrondissement, told reporters that there had been "a dispute between neighbors".
A probe has been launched for "intentional destruction by fire resulting in death".
