Approximately 2 tons of cannabis were seized in PKK operation

Approximately 2 tons of cannabis was seized in the operation against the PKK in Turkiye's Diyarbakır. In the operation, 3 separate hand-made explosives were also detected and destroyed.

A total of 827.5 kilos of marijuana were seized, worth 27 million 130 thousand Turkish Liras on the market, in the operation against the PKK in Diyarbakır's Lice county Çağdaş, Yolçatı, and Dibekköy. The operation also 3 handmade explosive devices trapped on the ground were detected and destroyed in place by the Explosives Disposal Team.

According to the statement made by the Governor of Diyarbakır regarding the operation, it is stated that the operations started on January 3, 2018, at 18.00 and ended on January 5, 2018, at 21.00.

"Two shelters used by the PKK, one observation station, and 15 natural caves have been made unusable in the scope of the operation," read the statement.

"Four Dragunov sniper rifle magazine, twelve pounds of 21 propane cylinders plus a camp cylinders, 2 liters gasoline, and 80 meters of electrical cable, including a lot of living material were captured in the shelter, cave, woody, bushy and rocky areas," the statement also read.
