Turkey Statistical Institute [Turkstat] announced inflation figures for the month of August. The Consumer Price Index [CPI] increased by 2.30 percent and the Domestic Producer Price Index increased by 6.60 percent in August.
The CPI (2003 = 100), recorded as increased 2.30 percent in August 2018, compared to the previous month, 12.29 percent compared to December of the previous year, 17.90 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 12,62 percent according to the average of twelve months.
The highest monthly increase was in the group of various goods and services with 5.85 percent
As for the main expenditure groups, the increase was 4.56 percent in household goods, 4.45 percent in transportation, 3.85 percent in housing and 2.63 percent in communication.
As of main spending groups, only clothing and footwear group decreased by 1.59 percent in August 2018.
