Car bomb kills several people in Somalia's capital

At least 30 people were killed in a car bomb attack, which was carried out at a busy security checkpoint in Mogadishu, the Somali capital.

In one of the deadliest attacks in Mogadishu in recent memory, more than 30 people were killed, at least 90 people were wounded, a government spokesman said and added that the death toll will likely rise.

Children were among the wounded as well as several university students who had been traveling in a bus, the local officials said.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.
