CCTV records moments of building collapse in Istanbul

CCTV has captured the moment of seven-storey building collapse took place in Istanbul on Wednesday.

The collapse of the 7-storey building, located on the Asia side of Istanbul, in Kartal district, was captured by a nearby CCTV.

The records show that the collapse of the building takes place at 16.42 causing a dust cloud while people on the street escaping from the debris of the building.

Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul who came to the site after the collapse, stated that the collapsed building was constructed as four floors along with the ground floor in 1992, but then it was added 3 more illegal floors.

Yerlikaya added that the collapsed building was 7 storey plus the ground floor with 14 apartments and 43 citizens were registered as living in the apartments.
