French President Macron and Chinese leader Xi announced new trade deals worth $15 billion in the midst of a trade war between China and the United States.
China and France signed deals totaling $15bn during a visit by French President Macron, a Chinese government official said at a news briefing on Wednesday
The contracts were signed in the sectors of aeronautics, energy and agriculture, including approval for 20 French companies to export poultry, beef and pork to China, along with a pledge by China to support purchases of Airbus planes.
On the other hand, Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping released a joint statement on Wednesday stating their support for the "irreversible" Paris Agreement on climate change.
