Civilian vehicle hits land mine kills 7, injured 13 in Diyarbakır

Land mine, laid by PKK under the road of Kulp, a district of Diyarbakır, killed at least 7 people while 13 other people injured seriously on Thursday night.

Explosives planted under the road by the PKK exploded during the passage of a civilian vehicle in the area between the town of Kulp, district of Diyarbakır, SE of Turkey and Muş province.

Diyarbakir Governor's Office announced before the death toll as four described the civilians as villagers went to collect woods in rural areas of Kulp while the PKK detonated explosives laid under the road during the passage of their vehicle.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, who went to the city after the attack, announced that the number of people who lost their lives had risen to 7.

The minister Soylu said the attack was carried out around 18.30 evening hours when a group of 20 workers from Muş, Batman, and districts was on the turn.
