At least 100 people, including a large number of civilians, lost their lives and more than 300 people were injured, as a result of air and land assaults against the Eastern Gouta, which under blockade of Ba'ath regime in Syria. At least 20 of the people who lost their lives were mentioned as children. It was reported that the wounded were transferred to the field hospitals.
In East Gouta, which has been under siege since 2013, nearly 400,000 people live in need of assistance. East Gouta is the last area the opponents hold in their hands near the capital, Damascus. The Syrian Army has intensified its attacks since the beginning of this month to seize the region. During these attacks, hundreds of people have been killed in the past month and more than a hundred people have been wounded.
International aid agencies have previously announced that the humanitarian situation in the region has come to a "critical point" due to food, fuel and drug shortages.
