Corn harvest begins in Mardin Plain

While the first corn harvest is being carried out in Mardin Plain, which contains the most fertile lands of Mesopotamia, farmers are suffering from the export ban as well as the high input costs.

In Mardin Plain, which is one of the most important grain centers of Turkey and has approximately one million Decar cultivated areas, the first harvest began to be collected.

Getting higher yields compared to last year, farmers complain about the export ban and high input costs.

Farmers, who have expressed that the increase in input costs such as fertilizer, pesticides, diesel and electricity over the years has seriously affected them, are waiting for help from the authorities on this issue.

Farmers of the Mardin Mesopotamian lands, which meet a significant portion of Turkey's wheat, barley and lentil production, expect the harvest season to be fruitful this year.
