Court orders decision about Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ

A Turkish court ordered the arrests of former HDP Co-Presidents Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ as part of the investigation into the events on 6-8 October 2014.

The Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the arrest of former HDP Co-Presidents Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdag in connection with the deadly events on October 6-8, 2014.

Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ were referred to the court of peace for their arrests as part of the Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation into unauthorized demonstrations carried out on October 6-8, 2014, with the pretext of Kobane.

Following the referral decision, lawyers of Demirtaş and Yüksekdag testified successively to the 1st magistrate of Ankara.

The judge ordered arrest on several charges against HDP former co-presidents.
