Death toll from avalanche disaster reaches to 41 in eastern Turkey

Death toll from avalanche disaster rose to 41 in Bahçesaray district of Van province, Turkish Health Ministry said on Thursday.

After an avalanche hit late Tuesday, killing five people and burying two others, nearly 300 rescue crews were dispatched to a highway between Bahçesaray district and city center of Van province, eastern Turkey.

A second avalanche hit the group, killing at least 36 people and injuring 84 others.
