Death toll from plane crash rises to 97 in Pakistan

​The number of people killed in a plane that crashed near Karachi and fallen in a residential district on Friday has reached 97.

There were 99 people aboard when the plane crashed after twice trying to land at the airport.

CEO of Pakistan International Airlines Air Vice Marshal Arshad Malik; the pilot of PK8303 had said that the plane was experiencing technical difficulties - both runways were available for landing but the pilot did a go-around inquiry will be conducted to find out what exactly happened.

“Accidents happen. But our pilots are trained for this kind of situation. These aircrafts are being maintained and inspected. The necessary inspections of our aircraft were also carried out. We are investigating what technical issues led to the crash,” he added.
