Disabled woman presents wheelchairs to 72 disabled people

Some 72 disabled people with no financial condition were given a wheelchair in Silopi, district of Şırnak, a southeastern province of Turkey.

Gamze Elibol, who is also disabled, provided wheelchairs to 72 physically and mentally disabled people in Silopi district of Şırnak with the proceeds from the crafts workshop she founded in Istanbul.

Gamze Elibol, who has been a resident in Istanbul and has been physically disabled for 37 years, is now a 'hope' for the disabled through her art workshop.

Elibol presents wheelchairs to disabled people who have low financial income with the proceeds of the products produced in her workshop and with the support of philanthropists.

Gamze Elibol stated that they go to different provinces of the country every month, came to Silopi this month and delighted 72 physically and mentally disabled people. The joy of the disabled and their families, the majority of whom are children, was reflected in their faces.

"I want to train disabled young people who can stand up and lead, not just those with low educational attainment," Elibol says.

"I'm in Şırnak and we brought 72 wheelchairs. I would like to thank both our volunteers and our supporters here," she added.

"After the efficiency of the crafts, we move further and further each day to touch the lives of disabled children. I've never been to Şırnak before, I'm so happy to have come," Elibol said.

Habile Şayık and Gurbet Umaç, who stated that they could not buy a wheelchair for their children because their financial situation was bad, thanked Elibol and the donors for giving them a wheelchair.
