Erdoğan holds a phone conversation with Croatian Prime Minister Plenkovic

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic of Croatia, which chairs the presidency of the Council of the EU.

During the conversation, they discussed the developments in Idlib, the refugee issue and the regional affairs.

Erdoğan expressed during the phone conversation that the European Union must abide by its international obligations and provide the necessary protection for refugees reaching its borders, and added that closing their borders would not eliminate the European countries' responsibility under the international law.
