Erdoğan speaks by phone with top Libyan officials

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with the Head of the Presidential Council of Libya, Mohammad Younes Menfi, and the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of Libya, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, separately.

Turkey-Libya relations and regional developments were discussed during the talks, Turkish presidency said in a statement.

Conveying his congratulations on the Government of National Unity receiving vote of confidence from the House of Representatives, Erdoğan stated that hopes for a lasting solution flourished once again in Libya.

Noting that Turkey, which always regarded friendly and brotherly Libya’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and political unity to be essential, would continue to provide all kinds of necessary support to Libya, Erdoğan said that the cooperation, built on solid grounds, between the two countries should be further consolidated and joint achievements should be preserved in the period ahead.
