The D-8 Presidency, which Turkey has held since October 20, 2017, will be assumed by Bangladesh as of this Summit.
Besides heads of state and government of the D-8 member countries, President of the Islamic Development Bank Bandar M. H. Hajjar, who has been invited as a special guest, will also attend the Summit, which will be held with the theme of “Partnership for a Transformative World: Harnessing the Power of Youth and Technology”.
Commercial and economic cooperation issues that are on D-8’s agenda will be addressed and views on current regional and international matters will be exchanged at the Summit.
The Summit aims to facilitate coordination in the fight against the coronavirus, speed up the cooperation activities carried out in various fields within the organization, outline a vision for the future, and set out a road map to that end.
Dhaka Declaration and D-8 10-Year Road Map are expected to be adopted at the end of the Summit.
