EU calls on Zionist regime to abide by its commitment under the Oslo Accord

The European Union Delegation to the Palestinians has called on Zionist regime to abide by its commitment under the Oslo Accord to allow PAL candidates and voters to participate in elections in East Jerusalem.

“Israeli authorities yesterday prevented a press conference in East Jerusalem and arrested 3 Palestinian electoral candidates. We expect IL to abide by its commitment under the Oslo Accord to allow PAL candidates and voters to participate in elections in East Jerusalem,” the delegation tweeted.

The zionist occupation regime detained 10 Palestinian lawmakers illegally in its jails, mostly in administrative detention.

The lawmakers are Ahmed Attoun, Hasan Yousef, Ahmed Saadat, Nizar Ramadan, Khaled Tafesh, Marwan Barghouthi, Hatem Qafisha, Mohamed Maher, Khaleda Jarra and Yasser Mansour.

Their detention is arbitrary and not based on legal grounds. Palestinians consider their detention “a politically motivated and punitive measure that violates international law.”

Over the years, more than 70 Palestinian MPs, mostly from the Hamas Movement, were arrested and detained more than once because of their political and social activities.
