EU prepares to approve refugee assistance

The European Commission, which is the executive body of the European Union, is preparing to approve the 3 billion euros to help refugees to Turkiye.

The European Commission reportedly prepared to approve the second part to provide financial assistance for Syrian refugees living in Turkiye, where he promised 3 billion euros.

According to Reuter's reports, EU’s top migration official, Dimitris Avramopoulos will have a statement related to the issue on Wednesday.

The approval of the second financial assistance to expect to be done before EU-Turkiye summit in Bulgaria on March 26.

"The Commission is today launching the mobilization for the second €3 billion tranche of the Facility for Refugees in Turkiye after the first part of the Facility was fully contracted by the end of 2017," said the statement made by the EU Commission.

Within the scope of the agreement between EU and Turkiye, EU has promised to provide €6 billion financial assistance for the refugee in Turkiye.

The first part of €3 billion of this aid is being spent to be used in different projects.
