Brenton Tarrant, the terrorist responsible for the Christchurch mosque attacks in New Zealand, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Brenton Tarrant, a far-right terrorist who killed 51 Muslim worshipers in the March 2019 Christchurch mosque attacks, was sentenced to life in prison with no parole, the first time a full life term has been imposed in the country.

He pled guilty to 51 counts of murder, 40 counts of attempted murder, and one count of carrying out an act of terrorism.

Two consecutive mass shootings occurred at mosques in a terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday Prayer on 15 March 2019. The attack, carried out by Brenton Harrison Tarrant, who entered both mosques, began at the Al Noor Mosque in the suburb of Riccarton at 1:40 p.m. and continued at Linwood Islamic Centre at 1:52 p.m. He killed 51 people and injured 40.
