Farmers in the EU face the crisis

Summer of 2018 was one of the most scorching seasons seen in Europe. The farmers who win their bread from agriculture and animal husbandry faced the crisis.

The agriculture has been hit hard by the drought, following the tough winter months leading to food stress. Grass areas that cannot bloom from extreme colds have become barren due to record temperatures this time.

In countries where the drought was most effective, dairy farms in the UK sent their animals to slaughterhouses due to feed scarcity such as hay and grass.

The European Union announced that due to the drought, more support will be provided to farmers in addition to the measures taken at the beginning of August.

In the Crop Tackle Report in Europe, prepared by the European Commission for July and August, it is stated that drought in some regions of Germany, France, England, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Hungary, and Romania has affected agriculture.

Negative influences of weather conditions on the agricultural field have been expressed that the European consumer will be reflected on the food bill and on the market.
