Fifth joint Turkish-Russian land patrol conducted in Idlib

Fifth joint Turkish-Russian land patrol has been conducted in Idlib province of northern Syria, Turkey Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Tuesday.

“Fifth combined Turkish-Russian land patrol was conducted today by air and ground vehicles on M4 motorway in Syria’s Idlib province, as part of the earlier TR-RF agreement,” the statement said.

After the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 5, 2020, Russia and Turkey came to a cease-fire agreement in Syria, which included joint Russian and Turkish patrols of a 12 kilometers (7.5 mile) wide corridor alongside the M4 Motorway that runs through Idlib to Latakia.
