It was claimed that Turkish Armed Forces shot a settlement in the air operation that it carried out on Wednesday evening as part of the fight against the PKK.
Regarding the issue, according to the information obtained from KRG press sources, during the air operation on Qandil, four civilians lost their lives after a civilian settlement was being hit. Two of the killed were reportedly Peshmerga members.
“Four young people who were in the area for a picnic and stayed overnight were killed,” Ahmad Qadir, mayor of Choman, told Rudaw on Thursday morning. He said Turkish fighter jets carried out the attack.
The four people who were killed are all law graduates of Koya University: Shera Mahmud, Kaka Mustafa Warti, Mohammed Ismael Warti, and Darbaz Mohammed.
